Pediatric Cross Training Module
Pediatric patients are not simply small adults. Treating this special population requires a different approach, with a different set of clinical skills. The Pediatric Series provides training in a broad range of areas of concern, ranging from basic subjects such as pediatric growth, to advanced topics such as pediatric emergency care and resuscitation, The Basic Level, the first of three in the series, provides a solid foundation for pediatric skills development.

• Concepts in Pediatric Considerations: Pediatric Developmental Considerations
  (CE 1.5 hr)
• Pediatric Growth: Height, Weight, Head Circumference (CE 1.5 hr)
• Pediatric Vital Signs: Temperature (CE 2 hr)
• Pediatric Vital Signs: Pulse, Respirations, Blood Pressure (CE 2 hr)
• Identifying and Managing Pain in Children (CE 1.5 hr)
• Pediatric Medication Calculation and Administration (CE 1.5 hr)
• Pediatric Hydration and Fluid Volume Distribution (CE 2 hr)
• Pediatric Complete Blood Count, Reticulocyte Count, WBC Differential, and Absolute Neutrophil Count (CE 1.5 hr)
• Pediatric Liver Function Tests (CE 2 hr)
