Joint Commission Seeks Comments on Proposed Accreditation Requirements related to the Reinvented Long Term Care Program

The Joint Commission is considering a new approach to Long Term Care accreditation aiming to focus on critical issues that support safety and quality of care for persons in the long term care setting. TJC plans to remove current accreditation requirements that do not have a direct impact on the safety and quality of care and also by removing requirements that are already addressed by other regulatory bodies such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
