Developing Comprehensive Compliance Plans

Over the last two weeks StayAlert has published comprehensive reviews of the Office of Inspector General's (OIG) 2013 Work Plan. In addition to understanding the areas OIG will be focusing on in the upcoming year, the work plan provides an excellent opportunity for organizations to review best practices for the development and implementation of a comprehensive compliance plan.
In today's environment, health care organizations face increased scrutiny of corporate conduct and it is imperative for hospitals to establish and maintain effective compliance programs. These programs should foster a culture of compliance that begins at the highest levels and extends throughout the organization.
