Nurses Make a Difference

Nurses Make a Difference

The World Health Organization (WHO) has designated 2020 as The Year of the Nurse and Midwife. This year is also the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth.

As part of the “Year of the Nurse and Midwife” celebration, the American Nurses Association expanded National Nurses Week, traditionally celebrated from May 6 to May 12 each year, to a month-long celebration in May,”… to expand opportunities to elevate and celebrate nursing.”

The pandemic quickly shifted the focus of the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. The theme for May is Nurses Make a Difference.

The American Nurses Association has divided the month of May into 4 weekly focuses:  Self-Care (May 1-9), Recognition (May 10-16), Professional Development (May 17-23) and Community Engagement (May 24-31).

MCN Healthcare would like to take this moment to shine a light on nurses. Thank you seems inadequate, but we thank you for caring for your patients no matter what.
